Where is your main office located?

Hendricks County Parks & Recreation’s main office is located 955 E. Main Street in Danville, Indiana. We are in the old Hendricks County Fairgrounds on Old U.S. Highway 36, directly across the street from Hendricks Regional Health. We are situated between the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department and the National Guard Armory.

Where are your parks located?

McCloud Nature Park is located at 8518 Hughes Road, North Salem, Indiana. Our naturalists and maintenance crew are based out of McCloud. For more information about McCloud Nature Park, click here.

Our portion of the Vandalia Trail has two trailheads. One is located at 5042 South Street, Amo, Indiana. The other one is located at 7963 Main Street, Coatesville, Indiana. For more information about the Vandalia Trail, click here.

W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park’s official address is 4521 Gibbs Road, Danville, Indiana although it is physically located within the limits of the Town of Avon. It is situated on Gibbs Road in between County Roads 200 S. and 350 S. For more information about W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park, click here.

What are your hours of operation?

All of our parks are open from dawn to dusk daily, barring extreme weather conditions (such as ice).

The McCloud Nature Center is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the months of November through April. It’s open on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. during the months of May through October.

Our main office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We observe Hendricks County Government holidays.

While we do our best to have someone in our main office during normal business hours, we have a very small office staff. It’s always a good idea to call us first at (317) 718-6188 to make sure someone is there to assist you.
