Have you ever been to Turkey Run or Shades State Parks and enjoyed that evergreen rainforest feeling you get while hiking the box canyons? Those same evergreens can be found at McCloud Nature Park! Join Summer Rathon, a Purdue grad student, for this kid-friendly demonstration to discover Indiana’s glacial history, all about eastern hemlocks, and what you can do to help preserve these special trees in Indiana. We will create our own glaciers, as well as take a walk to look at McCloud’s very own eastern hemlock trees.
Hiking terrain info: easy to moderate level of difficulty; crushed gravel trails; up to 0.5 mile.
