Learn to identify invasive plants that are of concern in Indiana, and Hendricks County specifically. Instruction and resources will also be provided on controlling invasives and how to get involved with others locally to manage these invasive pests as a community. (Bush honeysuckle is pictured above and is a common invasive plant in Indiana.)
The speaker, Mary Hallinan, is the Regional Specialist serving Hendricks County on behalf of Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management (SICIM) in support of the Indiana Invasives Initiative. You will learn more about the the Indiana Invasives Initiative and Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs) during this presentation.
Weather permitting, the program will include a short invasive hike around McCloud Nature Park for hands-on invasive plant ID and discussion. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are recommended.
