DOGS

Dogs are welcome at Hendricks County Parks, as long as they are restrained on a leash and under their owner’s control at all times.  Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations due to inclement weather are possible.  Please check our website or Facebook page on the day of your program for weather cancellation information.

Astronomy:  The Indiana Astronomical Society (IAS) evening programs at McCloud are divided into two parts. The information sessions are held inside the Nature Center and will take place rain or shine. The outdoor night sky viewing is dependent upon weather, and will not take place if weather advisories are issued or cloudy skies are evident.

Summer Fun Runs: Hendricks County Parks makes every effort to adhere to our Summer Fun Run Series schedule. While we will conduct runs in light rain, runs will not be held under severe weather advisories or conditions. When in doubt, check our Facebook page or our website for the latest information. Our Facebook page will be the fastest source of information.

Kids Nature Camps:  McCloud’s Kids Summer Camps may be cancelled occasionally if severe weather is forecast. Most of our kids camps are designed around program elements that can be taught indoors or out. During periods of high heat, or pop-up thunderstorms, kids will come indoors, out of the weather, for periods of time until it is safe to return outdoors. However, a forecast of severe weather will result in camp cancellations. The decision to cancel a camp based on a severe weather forecast will be made by 3:00pm the preceding day, and parents will be notified by phone.

Other Programs:  Programs may be cancelled at the discretion of Hendricks County Parks & Recreation when severe weather is forecast. If threatening weather is evident, please check our Facebook page or call the office at (317) 718-6188.
