Can you dump motor oil into a culvert to get rid of it? Join us as we learn about the laws designed to protect nature and the people who enforce those laws. \nCould parks and recreation be a career option for you? This program is designed to provide a no-pressure look into parks and recreation careers for teenagers who are contemplating their futures after high school. The program lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and participants will be provided lunch. \nThis is part of a monthly series for high school students. \nRecommended for ages 14-17. \nADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY APRIL 7 by clicking here. \n$8/teen (lunch is included). \nApproximate Program Duration: 4 hours. \nThe entire program will be outdoors. Join local bushcraft instructors Ryan Rose and Tracy Alderson for a session on how to be better prepared for an enjoyable hike and what to do when things don’t go as planned.\n \nTopics that will be included: trip pre-planning\, gear and attire selection\, basic wilderness survival priorities and skills\, what to do if you get lost\, basic navigation skills\, what’s in our day kits and how to use it.
