DESCRIPTION:Our Park Naturalists and volunteers come to your local library each month to share a story about a native animal and lead a craft or activity. These programs are FREE to attend and are most appropriate for preschool to upper elementary age children. Advance registration is required by contacting your library.   \n \nJune: Fish is Fish by Leo Lionni \nTwo best friends\, a minnow and a tadpole\, are practically inseparable until the tadpole grows legs and decides to explore the world beyond the pond. When the tadpole\, now a frog\, returns to tell his friend of the extraordinary things he’s seen\, the minnow\, now a fish\, tries to follow in his footsteps\, but quickly finds that land is not what he expected. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we dip our toes into the vast waters of fishing at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park. Campers will learn some of the different types of fish they could find in our waters and will get the opportunity to learn how to use some basic fishing equipment.\n \nYoung children and their parents or guardian will participate together in age-appropriate nature activities. Children must attend with a parent or guardian\, as these are not drop-off programs.\n \nAdvance registration required by June 11 at: https://hcparks.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail?programId=840\n \nFor youngsters (age 2-5) with adults. Older siblings\, ages 6-7\, may also register and participate.\n \nThe $12 fee covers both child and adult.\n \nWe prefer a 1:1 adult-to-child ratio\, with the exception of siblings (in that case\, one adult for two siblings is fine).\n \nPlease register the CHILD\, rather than the adult.
