SUMMARY:Virtual Animal Tales - The Busy Little Squirrel
DESCRIPTION:Normally our park naturalists come to your local library each month to share a story about a native animal and a related craft or activity with preschool through upper elementary age children. This program is FREE to attend.\n \nThis week we are offering this program online since most libraries aren’t offering in-person programming right now and anyone can join in! These resources are available at any time since this is not a live program.\n \nIn the Discussion tab of our Facebook Event\, you will find a video about squirrels. There will also be resources in the Discussion tab.\n \nWe were going to read this book in-person: The Busy Little Squirrel by Nancy Tafuri.\n \nThe leaves have started to fall. The air is cold. Squirrel needs to get ready for winter. He cannot nibble with the mice. He does not have time to hop with the frogs or run with the dogs. Will this busy little squirrel ever slow down? Focusing on all the charming features of the fall season\, this sweetly illustrated story features country animals\, pumpkins\, leaves\, apples and other signs of autumn.\n \nTo view the entire Animal Tales schedule\, click here.

SUMMARY:Virtual Animal Tales: Groundhog Day
DESCRIPTION:Normally our park naturalists come to your local library each month to share a story about a native animal and a related craft or activity with preschool through upper elementary age children. This program is FREE to attend.\n \nThese resources are available at any time\, since this is not a live program.\n \nCheck our Facebook page as the first full week of the month approaches for a Facebook event regarding this month’s Virtual Animal Tales program. In the Discussion tab of the Event\, you will find a variety of resources relating to this month’s story.\n \nIn February\, we were going to read this book in-person: Groundhog Day by Michelle Aki Becker. This book is available at many local libraries\, and some even have this available in a digital format.\n \nSummary:\nIt’s February 2 and all eyes are on Punxsutawney Phil — the famous weather-predicting groundhog. If he sees his shadow\, there are six more weeks of winter ahead. But if he does not\, spring is just around the corner!\n \nTo view the entire Animal Tales schedule\, click here.
