Many families try this as their first family camping trip because this is close to home\, and they enjoy the naturalist-led activities. Want to try camping but don’t have the gear? We have partnered with Camptown who are offering gear rental for this weekend! Don’t know how to start a campfire? We’ll teach you\, and we’ll provide firewood and s’mores. Relax at your campsite\, or explore the prairie maze\, park trails\, or go creek stomping. Join the naturalists for a night hike\, and then wake up to a continental breakfast. \nCheck in on Saturday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.\nCheck out on Sunday by 11 a.m. \nAppropriate for all ages. \nRegistration opens May 1\, 2024. Don’t delay\, because this event sells out quickly. \nFee: $30/campsite (up to 6 family members per site). If you help him find the treasure\, he will be sure to spoil you with riches!\n \nMeet Cool Joe out at McCloud Nature Park for a day of pirating fun as he celebrates Greenbeard’s favorite day of the year: Earth Day! Gibbs Memorial Park on April 8 beginning at 11:30 a.m.\, and then we welcome everyone to stay to watch the eclipse with us! Find your favorite spot in the park and enjoy the show!\n \nWe will even have FREE certified eye protection glasses that meet ISO 12312-2:2015 standards for the first 750 park guests that day!\n \n \n\nWhile we won’t be holding a program at McCloud Nature Park\, you’re welcome to view the total solar eclipse there\, too.
