Don’t Become a Lost or Stranded Hiker!

If you need assistance completing your registration, please call the McCloud Nature Center at (765) 676-5437.Time spent in the woods is wonderful, except when it isn’t. Poor planning, wearing the wrong attire, running out of water, inclement weather, injuries, or getting lost can be miserable or worse. Join local bushcraft instructors Ryan Rose and Tracy Alderson for a session on how to be better prepared for an enjoyable hike and what to do when things don’t go as planned.
Topics that will be included: trip pre-planning, gear and attire selection, basic wilderness survival priorities and skills, what to do if you get lost, basic navigation skills, what’s in our day kits and how to use it. Bring and wear what you would for a day hike at a park.
Participants will receive a collectable HCP&R patch!

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 10 THROUGH ADULT. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WHO IS REGISTERED FOR THE PROGRAM.
