How strictly do you enforce the age limits listed on some of your camps and programs?
The age limits shown are intended as a guide for parents. While age restrictions will not be strictly enforced in most instances, the subject matter is taught at appropriate comprehension levels for each age group. By registering your children for programs outside their age range, they may find the programs being taught at too high or too low a level for their full enjoyment.
You are the best judge of the age appropriateness of programs for your child, but when in doubt, please call the McCloud Nature Center at (765) 676-5437 and we’ll be happy to discuss programs on a case-by-case basis.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds will be issued under the following conditions:
- If a program, camp or pavilion rental is canceled by Hendricks County Parks & Recreation, a full refund will be provided.
- If a written refund request is received by our main office at least three (3) business days prior to a program or camp, a full refund, less 10% or a $3 surcharge fee (whichever is greater), will be issued.
- If a written refund request is received by our main office one (1) week prior to a scheduled pavilion rental, a full refund, less 10% or a $3 surcharge fee (whichever is greater), will be issued.
NO REFUNDS will otherwise be issued. All refunds are subject to the Indiana State Board of Accounts claim procedures and may take up to five (5) weeks to process.
What is your photo policy?

May I bring my dog to your programs?
Yes. Dogs are welcome at our parks, as long as they are restrained on a leash and under their owner’s control at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
We are planning to participate in a program or event, but the forecast calls for rain/snow/ice/tornadoes/sharknadoes. Will the program or event still take place?
We often hold programs, events and hikes in light rain, but not under severe weather advisories or conditions. When in doubt, call our Weather Hotline at (317) 718-6111 and check our Facebook page.
We will do our best to directly notify registered participants, if applicable, via email as long as one of our employees can safely access our main office.
