NRHT, Inc. 2022 Bike Rides
April 30, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

This is the 1st in the series of 6 monthly bike rides in 2022 by NRHT, Inc. to see firsthand the status of open sections of the cross-state National Road Heritage Trail and enjoy each section’s local culture.
This April ride of up to 40 miles will span most of the width of Hendricks County featuring the paved Vandalia Trails of Hendricks County Parks & Recreation and of Plainfield Parks & Recreation, plus county roads in between as close as possible to the future proposed trail route. Please note that riders participate at their own risk, and minors must be accompanied by an adult responsible for them.

The group will meet at 9:00 AM on April 30 at the south end of the parking lot of Plainfield’s Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center, then first ride east to the current east end of Plainfield’s Vandalia Trail, followed by a return trip through Plainfield, then on to county roads to Hendricks County Parks & Recreation’s Vandalia Trail through the towns of Amo and Coatesville to the Putnam County Line. During the return, riders will have refreshment options in Coatesville, Amo, or at many places back in Plainfield. The round trip length will be up to 40 miles, including 19 miles on trail, though shorter distances can easily be accommodated with the out-and-back ride route.
