Bike with a Biologist

Grab your bike and head over to the Vandalia Trail in Amo to meet your Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Fish & Wildlife biologist, Erin Basiger! Participants will have an opportunity to learn about and identify common wildlife and plant species of Indiana during the bike ride. In addition, participants will view various wildlife habitats and possibly their wildlife occupants.

The bike trip will consist of a 1.5-mile ride out from the start, and a 1.5-mile return ride, for a total of 3 miles. Participants may turn back at any point along the trail if they would like to return sooner. Modern restrooms and water fountains are available at the Amo trailhead but not at the turn-around point. Dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle. Call the Weather Hotline at (317) 718-6111 for any weather concerns.

Biking terrain info: easy level of difficulty, paved surface, up to 3 miles.

APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD OR ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO ATTEND.
