Homeschool Ecology Series: Undesirable Flora & Fauna

Even in protected areas such as McCloud Nature Park, park managers battle plants and insects that are from other parts of the world. These are called “invasive species” and live in our area due to accidental or planned introductions. We’ll consider why these species are problematic, participate in real-world dilemma discussions, and improve the park by removing invasive plants.

Parents of the students may also register as participants for $10/session if they want to participate in the activities with the older students. (Parents who do not register as students may not be able to join the group for the inside portion of the lesson but are welcome to join for the outside portions.)

FOR YOUNGER SIBLINGS: After registering your 12-18 year-olds, email mccloudnp@hcparks.net for a link to register their younger siblings (ages 6-11). Please include the names of younger siblings you wish to register. Parents or guardians MUST ATTEND with the younger siblings, as this is not a drop-off program.
